Tags: my little pony: friendship is magic 209 angel discord fluttershy s03e10 s03 angel occupies a weird place in equestrian taxonomy and society fluttershy clearly thinks of him as a pet to some extent she cares for him in the same way as the other animals she's accumulated and we know he's not the only one she refers to by name but her special talent makes it unclear whether she gives them names or translates existing ones and angel in particular is clearly very intelligent almost certainly capable of fending for himself and fluttershy relates to animals in a different way than most ponies not just through her talent but in how she approaches them and forms bonds with them i get the impression most of them are more like lodgers than pets so is angel a pet? a longtime resident? a roommate? is there a difference? would there be if he lived with an 'ordinary' pony? i dunno anyway i don't always assign texts to non-speaking characters but when i do i rant about it in the tags apparently
